Stevan Stankovic was born in 1977 in Belgrade, Serbia. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Optoelectronics) from Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, in 2000 and 2006, respectively. Since 2006, he was involved in a research project in the field of silicon photonics, in collaboration with the Advanced Technology Institute at the University of Surrey, UK. Since 2008, he is working in the Photonics Research Group of INTEC, at Ghent University, were his main research interest is focused on heterogeneous integration of SOI waveguides and III-V active devices using a BCB bonding technique.
