Konstantinos Akritidis received his M.Eng. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace, Greece in 2019. His thesis involved the fabrication and characterization of graphene-based microsensors for hydrogen monitoring. Afterwards, he obtained a M.Sc. in Micro- and Nanotechnologies for Integrated Systems. It was a joint degree between Politecnico di Torino (Italy), Grenoble-INP - Phelma (France) and EPFL (Switzerland). During his masters he had a summer internship in STMicroelectronics where he was investigating AI techniques for Silicon Reliability. His thesis was carried out in IMEP-LaHC where he fabricated an optical biosensor on glass for the detection of polystyrene latex beads by utilizing dielectrophoresis. After finishing with his masters he completed his military obligations serving in the Research and Informatics Corps in IV Support Bridgate Battalion and in the 424 Military Hospital.
In September 2022, he joined the Photonics Research Group, where he is currently pursuing his PhD working on the VISSION project. His research work mainly focuses on developing lasers emitting in the blue and NIR on a silicon nitride platform.Specific Research Topics
