Thermally tunable lasers with polymeric passive tuning sections

DBR lasers consisting of InP active sections heterogeneously integrated with polymeric passive tuning sections will be fabricated and investigated as thermally tunable laser diodes. The tunable laser can be potentially low cost lasers, suitable for application in optical access networks.
A special polymer with large thermo-optic coefficient, developed at Dalian University of Technology in China, will be used for the fabrication of the passive sections.
This work is close collaboration with the research group of Prof. Mingshan Zhao of the School of Physics and Optoelectronics from Dalian University of Technology in China.
