Michiel De Maeyer was born in Brussels, Belgium, in 1997. He received his Bachelors and Master degree in Bioengineering from the Free University of Brussels (VUB). He then persued an Erasmus Mundus in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at KU leuven with external (research) stays in Grenoble and Zurich.
